Better Than Yoshi’s Ground-Pound
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I grabbed one of these off Amazon with the Alpine MRP-M500 Mono Amp and a ported enclosure. Let me just say… sweet jesus. Where do I start?
The installation was easy for me as I was using this set up to replace some much weaker Pioneer equipment in a sealed enclosure. While I may have doubled the wattage in doing this, it seems like I improved the listening experience by ten-fold. I have the gain below nominal and the bass boost just above zero and it’s putting more bass in my car than is probably healthy. I have the bass equalizer on my headunit at -1 and it even gives my sideview mirrors a nice shake.
Why anybody would want two of these is beyond me. I have this on some of its lowest settings because if I put it any higher, I wouldn’t be able to tell you what song my speakers were playing. If I mounted this subwoofer face down, I would take even money that my rear wheels would come off the ground when the sub hit. Hits so clean, doesn’t distort, and plays an incredible range of low notes on the music I play.
Throw in an amp kit with the three items listed above and you’re looking at $350 altogether. That’s stealing… how does Alpine/Amazon profit from this?
Do the right thing. Buy it.

Best sub for this price
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased the Alpine 1243D 4ohm DVC Subwoofer and installed it as my only sub in my Chevy Tahoe. Man, it thumps so hard you can feel the bass go thru your body and fill the whole vehicle, what a rush! I mated it to an Alpine M 500 Sub Amp in a Scosche Enclosure (sealed). You do NOT need two subs unless you are really trying to compete with someone. I can turn up the volume as loud as I want and it will not distort. The price was so cheap I couldn’t believe it! It is still on sale for that price now! No shipping, no tax! Its $75 dollars cheaper than I could get at any stereo place in my city. I recommend getting the Alpine Grill kit, its reallly nice! By far, the best sub in this price range. SIK-NIK
