The Perfect Amplified Sub
Amplified subwoofer systems make it easy to get great bass. These enclosures are precision designed and matched to the subwoofer for optimum bass response. Add a powerful built-in amplifier and you have a simple solution for adding booming lows to your system. And with a profile of under 3 inches, this unit will slide right under your seat.
Integrated Amplifier
The integrated amplifier in the BASS600 pumps out 400 Watts RMS (600 max) through its eight-inch speaker, and features a low pass crossover (adjustable from 20 to 150Hz) and a subsonic filter (adjustable from 20 to 50Hz), as well as a control for adjusting the input sensitivity from 0.2V to 6V.
Speaker and RCA Level Inputs
Both high level (speaker level) and low level (RCA type) inputs are present, making this a universal solution for use with any head unit or other input source.
Remote Control Module
For further flexibility in using your sub, a variable bass boost control is included--control the subwoofer level with the remote control module.
Protection Circuitry
The BASS600's amplifier incorporates special protection circuitry which will disable the amplifier if input overloads, short circuits, or extreme temperatures occur.

Exactly what I needed…

I recently purchased this amplified subwoofer for my Jeep Wrangler, and am completely pleased with the purchase. I had previously installed new Alpine 6.5 inch speakers but was missing the low end sound. In my 20′s I had a jammin system but did not want that much base again in my 30′s, this was the perfect choice. I had it professionally installed and even that person commented on how impressed he was with this product. I would definitely recommend buying this unless you want a big base bump, then go with a larger box, amp, and 12 inch speakers.

Cool Sub!

I bought this for my ’94 Chevy Truck. I installed it under the driver’s seat and it works exactly as I had hoped. I also bought the wiring kit with the #8 AWG power wire and regardless of some of the other reviews, it IS #8 AWG. The kit had more than enough wire to install the unit. The only drawback was that the fuse was bad right out of the box.
This unit drives just enough bass (when I have it turned waaaay down) fill to the void from the 4×6′s that the truck allows in the stock speaker openings.
I didn’t want to rattle the neighborhood, I just wanted some low-end when I’m rocking out and this amp provided it perfectly.
I install Home Theaters for a living and I know what deep bass is supposed to sound like. I’ve rattled many a picture frame off the wall with my theater systems. This sub will not do that cleanly, but if you’re looking to fill the low end of your system without breaking windows and your wallet, this one’s perfect.

GEAT Sub for the money… really nice!!

I have had this in the system now for about 2 weeks. I’m pretty impressed with it. The sub does exactly what I wanted it to. I’m using it in a 95 Escort, under the passenger seat in with an aftermarket Pioneer head unit to factory speakers. Now, I will be upgrading the speakers, but the issue was I can only put 5 1/4 speakers in the doors and 5×7 speakers in the rear decks. I new this wouldn’t give any low end and wanted to “thicken” up the bass.
That is exactly what this does. Plenty of power for this application… pretty tight bass sound, not real “boomey”. I would recommend this for anyone looking for some low end into a non-amplified stereo configuration. If you are building a system from ground up with amps for all speakers, this is probably not the right application, but a great addition for what I’m doing, or adding a sub to a factory system.

Boss Audio BASS600 – Great addition for the price

I recently purchased this product to enhance the sound in my wife’s Chevy Aveo5 with the standard factory system.
Product arrived in about 2 days using Amazon Prime shipping. Unit is heavier than I expected and external build quality is good. The installation went smoothly. I have it mounted under the driver’s seat (in a small hatchback space is premium).
The user manual could be more user friendly, but once adjusted it filled out the bottom end really well. This is a really good small Subwoofer. The total wattage in the specs maybe misleading as this will not win any Bass wars, but it was not design to.
So if you are looking to fill out the bottom end with your factory stereo, give this sub at look.

Fits in the smallest of trucks..

I got this item for my son for Christmas. He has an old Ford Ranger, that has NO extra space anywhere. Although the sub didn’t fit under the seat, it DID fit behind the driver’s seat, mounted to the back of the cab. He’s a musician, and therefore knows and expects quality sound. For the size and price, this is a great little amplifier/sub. He couldn’t be happier. Can’t beat it for the price!

Dead within three months of install

I ordered this sub after reading all the various reviews here and on the web. Most reviews were about the amp’s performance and design. Item arrived well packaged, install was very easy (I’ve done more than thirty installs over the years), and I was nominally pleased with the sub’s performance. Enough bass to fill out the low end of the range but not over the top trunk rattle.
Less than three months of ordering the amp began to fail, intermittently cutting out and popping back on. I checked all the wiring, used the troubleshooting chart to double check things. No change. The symptoms grew worse until the amp no longer worked at all. Dead.
I looked for warranty info and Boss wants me to pay shipping to their repair facility. I can understand that however they also specify that I’m to include a $15 money order to cover shipping BACK to me. So that ends up being more than $25 out of pocket– a full $25% of the original selling price– to address a faulty product. Boo on Boss. With this illustrated lack of customer concern, I will never buy another Boss product and will dissuade anyone else from doing so as well.

Window-rattling fun in the old van

With a 3000-mile road trip ahead, I needed better sound. The BASS600 was one of the few subs I could tuck safely away under the passenger seat of my Astro van. I fabricated a couple mounting brackets and, after much planning, figured a tidy route for the power cable from the battery. The Boss Audio install kit I bought with the unit was very helpful. The supplied RCA cables are probably long enough for trunk installation. You’d never see the BASS600 unless you knew to look. But when the head unit kicks on, YOU KNOW! The puny bass from the factory speakers is transformed. On a good dub tune the bass lead was inaudible before. Not any more. My lady enjoys the vibration . . . what’s that sneaky smile on her face? And I haven’t used a fraction of the power available. If you see a guy in a white Astro, bass thumping and head-bobbing down the road, it’s me digging the best $100 I’ve spent on this rig.

BOSS 8″ Powered Subwoofer.

The Sub woofer works great. For my under seat application it worked out very well. It doesn’t rattle your teeth or anything, but if you are only running a component set of speakers to begin with, it adds quite a bit to the music. It fills out the low end quit nicely.

Bought this subwoofer during a year end sale for 79.99 It was a breeze to install and should be easy for you if you have installed a deck before. Just cater to buy the recommended wires, additional fuse holder and fuse, terminals, tape and plastic ties. Only special tool required is to make a hole in the firewall for the power cable if you cannot find a spare and a big soldering iron for the terminals if you’re not satisfied with the crimp.
Have a compact Japanese import and the only place it could fit was under the driver’s seat with height adjustment all the way up which it is any way.
Once properly adjusted, it fills out the music completely allowing me to devote the rest of the speakers for higher lows, mids and highs. Thought that I might have needed an eq but works great without it (am using the amp out lines on the head unit so do not know if it works just as great with speaker lines as inputs).
So for the price I paid and about 25.00 on wires and fuses etc., this is a great buy and would still be even if you had to pay up to 120.00 for it. The alternative is to buy a subwoofer, an amp, crossover and enclosure, have the correct tools to make a system and then find a place for it (does not apply if you have a larger vehicle and don’t need all the space).

If you have a Mini Cooper, you want this!

FYI, if you have a MINI Cooper, this is a great subwoofer.
If you have a MINI Cooper Clubman, you *have to* get this subwoofer! It fits perfectly in the unused spare-wheel well.

It uses very little amperage, so it can be powered by a 12v cigarette-lighter socket in most cars. The thump it puts out is fine for me.

Great sound, bargain price.

I needed a bit more low bass in my GMC Canyon which has 6.5″ component speakers. This unit fits behind the seat, not under it, but puts out much bigger sound than it’s footprint suggests. I don’t need or want to wake up the neighbors with thumpy, distortion filled bass, but I needed to hear that low end that was lacking from the door speakers. This unit does that perfectly and at a low price that you just can’t go wrong with.

Sits on top of my spare tire in the back of my Mini Cooper Clubman. Incredible sound for the money in an incredibly small package. Hooking it up was easy, as soon as I learned to hook it to the High Inputs, if not it shut off constantly (It’s a Mini Cooper thing).

COOL BOSS SOUND

I couldn’t be happier with my updated car stereo sound after installing this BOSS BASS600 Sub. This truly transformed my car sound. I was looking for a small sub that I could install under the passenger seat in my 2000 Honda Odyssey Van and it is perfect. It was easy to install once I was able to find the pass-through hole under the dash, got the car stereo removal instructions and got the Honda stereo wire color chart (no RCA Jacks on the stock honda stereo so I had to spice into the front speaker wires). This sub does just what I was looking for in that it adds a nice punch on the deep end and gives it a much fuller overall sound. The highs even sound crisper and cleaner? If you want the street shaking sound this is not the sub for you. I highly recommend this great sounding sub!

hello up there , i will make a revies to this Boss Audio BASS600 8-Inch Low-Profile Amplified Subwoofer (Single) i put in my RAV 4 toyota in my driver seat my brother in law and my brother amazed when they hear the deep bass in my HD radio stereo in my car , they said where it come from I said it in my radio , they said it sound so good we never heard that before, and I said I put a bass in my under my driver seat , looks nice and hidden no body nitice it.
