Designed to deliver low frequencies in virtually any car audio system, BassLink truly has universal appeal. Small in size but big in output, BassLink requires a mere .75 cubic feet of trunk space yet produces enough bass to wake up the neighborhood.
BassLink consists of a 10-inch subwoofer, 10-inch passive radiator and a 200-watt Class D amplifier housed in a rigid polymer enclosure, all carefully engineered to work together as a unique, integrated system. The extremely versatile BassLink accepts both speaker- and line-level inputs, and it provides an internal low-pass filter, proprietary signal processing and abundant amplification.
The BassLink system features a servo-control circuit that continually monitors the voice coil's position in the magnetic gap and prevents the distortion that occurs when a conventional woofer is overdriven. By integrating cone-excursion information with the instantaneous demands of the music, BassLink can extract loud and deep bass from an enclosure smaller than any before.
BassLink includes a fixed, 2nd-order, high-pass filter that eliminates the possibility of over-excursion below Fb, the resonant (tuned) frequency of the vented box. This allows the excursion-monitoring circuit to focus on the excursion at the more meaningful frequencies at and above Fb. The result is a significant increase in bass output.
User-adjustable controls allow listeners to set the system's response to achieve optimum performance based on the vehicle's cabin gain or transfer function. These controls include: a 0- or 180-degree phase switch; a continuously variable electronic low-pass filter that is adjustable between 70 and 100Hz; variable input sensitivity; and Bass EQ that provides for adjustments between +3 and -6dB. BassLink's frequency response in a typical vehicle is 20 to 100Hz (+/-3dB), but this varies according to the vehicle and user adjustments. At maximum gain, the system can accept inputs as low as 250mV.
BassLink can accept up to four channels of input--to provide nonfading bass--either from line-level signals through four RCA jacks or from high-level signals through a pair of Molex connectors, allowing BassLink to be easily connected to OEM systems. If using the speaker-level inputs, an audio-sense circuit will turn on the amplifier whenever a signal is present. If the RCAs are used, a 12-volt, remote-turn-on lead is required. The system has barrier strip connections for power, ground and remote turn-on.

Love this sub!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I installed this little sub in the hatch of my 2008 VW GTI.
It takes up very little space and it sounds great!
It’s connected with my factory navi, and the bass is enough to rock the whole car.
Love it.

Does exactly what I hoped it would — deliver the strong bass my factory speakers just couldn’t
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The key to appreciating this product is to have realistic expectations. It will NOT rattle the windows of nearby houses. It will NOT notify everyone within 200 feet that you’re listening to bumpin’ tunes. It will NOT give your sound system “street cred” or whatever. (Do people still even use the phrase “street cred”? Eh — I’m too old to care any more.) What it WILL do is deliver the clean, strong, deep bass that your factory speakers won’t.
To be honest, I was pretty satisfied with the sound delivered by the factory Bose system in my car, at least at low speeds. The problem is I have an aftermarket exhaust that gets a little loud at high speeds, and when I turned up the stereo to try to overcome the exhaust, the speakers would start working a little too hard and the low frequencies would get too muddy.
That’s where the Basslink steps in. By using the frequency filters on my head unit (both high-pass and low-pass) to cut out the lows from the factory speakers and send it all to the Basslink, I can now crank the stereo without overdriving the factory speakers; meanwhile the Basslink jacks out thumpin’ bass without breaking a sweat at volumes that would cause the factory speakers to strain. Net result: much better and more filled-out sound at volumes high enough to overcome my annoyingly loud exhaust than I was able to achieve with the factory speakers alone.
And the best part is that it takes up less room in my trunk than two bottles of antifreeze. It’s mounted upright and tucked away in a corner, barely even noticeable, and I still have about 95% of my trunk space. Plus there’s no amp taking up extra space either — the Basslink a complete unit, amp built in.
So if you need something to wake your neighbors up in the middle of the night thinking their roof is about to cave in, the Basslink won’t work for you. But if you just want something that can punch out the low frequencies with extra authority to “fill out” your factory system, you will not be disappointed with this space-saving little bruiser.

Don’t recommend

This thing was perfect in my Jeep. Sounds AWESOME while it worked. Had it in the Jeep for over a year, and like so many others, the amp blew. This makes the thing useless. You have to get the amp replaced (~$90 at a certified repair place) or bypass the internal amp with a different amp. Like I said sounded great when it worked. I have a Wrangler, so no trunk to penetrate, therefore I barely had it turned up ever. It was always set real low, and had a ton of bass.
For a throw away component, it is way overpriced.

This amplified subwoofer is is space saving & yet good bass for my Subaru Legacy Spec.B 2008. Highly recommended! Adjustable knob is helpful for those who want less/more bass for certain songs.

This SW is more than fine. Easy to install, sounds great, terrific value… I have no regrets about this unit, and if I have to buy another, this is the first one that I’ll seek out. Bass is great, all the boom-boom I could ask for. Mounted in the trunk of a 06 Accord EX.

Infinity Basslink
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I would first like to say thanks to all who have written in before me on the Infinity Basslink.
It really helps the consumer to make an informed decision, good or bad.
I had this sub installed in my 1998 Honda Prelude and my first impression was that it was not very good, but after the initial break in period of 24-48 hrs and some adjustments on the sub itself it thumped quite nicely.
As others have said it won’t shatter windows but it will provide a nice punch of clean bass.

Much boom for the square footage

As others have said, this wont blow out your windows. But I was impressed with what it has to offer. Deep, clean bass. Suddenly, even at low volume, the sound is deep and robust. I wired the remote and find its great to be able to lower the volume and turn up the gain on the sub. You still experience the music and can have a conversation. Still, it does rattle my Protege’s back deck. As my buddy said, “well, you need a little rattle to justify all the work wiring it.”
Installation with my stock HU made it a little more aggravating as it had no line level outs, but with an LOC sound quality was still real clean. I could have just spliced my speaker wires to the ones provided but I had read of improved quality with the RCA’s. I cant help but feel that pumping extra watts to the amp is going to shorten its life-cycle so the RCA’s were the way to go.
Lots of nice sound options, clean bass, awesome price. Matter of fact, I’m going to take a ride so I can use my system

Expensive junk

I owned one of these for a year before it quit.Thinking it was a fluke, I bought a new one-it worked for two days.I took the new one to Best Buy for an exchange, theirs worked for 5 minutes(lights come on,no sound, then smoke, then no lights).Infinity makes some quality audio ,but this is not an example. They have regular stereos,speakers,amps,etc.. that auto makers install in the factory as stock and premium in new cars.Unfortunately, this was/is old technology that doesn’t stand up-I owned 3,all 3 crapped out in a short time.BTW,if you buy any electronic device,by it from an authorized dealer and get the warranty or you’ll be losing money just like I did.Cheaper online isn’t always the best deal if it breaks, you have to pay return shipping and wait for a resolution or,at the least, shipping of a replacement.Don’t be afraid of the big box stores with customer service, instant replacement/refund,and real live people to talk to.Good luck….

Okay bass
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Installed in my dad’s ’98 Primera (sub facing down-controls up) to add a little oomph to the system. Pretty decent addition to the current setup. The head unit is a sony MEX BT-5100 that really really lacked bass. Don’t know if I am doing the setup part right with the positioning in the far corner from the driver, but has anyone ever tried adding a capacitor to see if the output increases? But anyway, it does do a little more justice than before….does help your sound come to life without shattering your auto electrical!!!

This is an excellent piece for adding bass to your car.
I searched for about 2 months, went to all the car-electronic parts shops , and even to the Honda dealer.
everytime I was shown Big subwofers , and bigger amps, It was so difficult for me to explain to those guys,
that I was not the one who was trying to rattle me neighbor’s windows, or even who wants lady gaga, to ga ga
with full throttle. I listen to all kind of music , including classical.
My only requirement was that I should have a thing which can just make all the highs and the lows sound as they should. I bought the infinity, and it really makes the Car-Radio sound 100 times better.
I have a Honda Civic 2008 LX with std radio, and this thing has really made the difference.
I am going for speaker upgrade next month as I have already bought them ( will power them with a
P4004 4 channel amp), if I wouldn’t have , I think the basslink , does exactly what the name says , links bass
to your car radio.
I would rate it a 10/10 for the money they are charging ( as you don’t need to pay for an amp, and neither an enclosure).
If you are not fond of your adjacent driver knowing , what you are playing , or if you are in a fantabulous mood, and just listen the music for it’s sake , and for your own pleasure. I would highly recomment the Basslink

Great value and solid performer.

I installed this in a Saturn SC2 and have been using it for about a month with no issues. The installation couldn’t have been any easier since I already had power/remote/ground/RCA wires routed and I opted to install the remote gain control as well, locating the adjustment knob cleanly in the dash. I installed this towards the back of the rear seat, with the active woofer angled so it fires toward the corner of the trunk. After about 20 minutes of tuning/adjustment to the gain control, crossover, and bass boost it sounds great. The bass response is accurate and solid and exactly what I expected for the $150 I spent on the unit. It’s a great compliment to an existing system utilizing a Sony head unit and Infinity reference two-way 6.5″ speakers front and rear. Keep in mind I installed it in a small car with a confined trunk. If you’re looking for some serious bass then this unit will likely disappoint, however JL audio makes some nice W7 subwoofers. We’ll see how the durability of this unit is as there have been some other reviews commenting on early failure, however this unit is sensitive to proper installation and tuning.

i put the basslink in the back of my mazda 3 hatchback. it adds some much needed low end and fit my budget and space needs well. it does, however, leave me wishing it hit a little lower and harder. this sub sounds much better in the cab of my buddies truck than in my hatchback.

Worth every Penny

Being an Audiophile I needed to add some serious sounds to my work truck. My regular car (an Eclipse) has a bi-amped system, using one amp for the lows and one for the highs. 600W and 300W, respectively. I have a 12″ sub there with a Dual deck. Being that I am using my truck more often I decided for christmas to get myself a decent sound system. My truck has just the standard pickup cab, so the space behind the seat is limited and under the seat is non-existant.
I went with the Infinity Basslink and have to say that it is everything and more than it claims. I’ve always been a fan of a standalone amplifier and sub box. In my experience self-powered subs never deliver like a dedicated amp can. This little box delivers! For the price it’s way more punch that you could get trying to buy separate components. This little box is so killer I’m thinking about upgrading my car and removing my dedicated amp system.
I’m a huge dubstep fan, so the music I listen to is mostly bottom end. The adjustable crossover & gain allowed me to dial in just the right frequency response and amplitude to make my truck pound like I was at home sitting in front of my dual 18″s.
The small cab helps alot but this little box puts out more bass than I would have expected. The dash-mount adjust dial is also sweet as hell. With minimal effort I can adjust the bass response on a per-track basis. Installation was easy.
FYI I used the “DB Link X-Treme Serie XK4Z 4-Gauge s Amplifier Installation Kit” and “Phase Linear BT1611i AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA/USB/SD Card Receiver with Bluetooth (Black)”. All together a seriously awesome setup for a decent price.
This one is a no-brainer. I think I’ll get 2 more.
