Love the Pioneer with Bluetooth!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this deck because my main interest was the intergrated Blue Tooth. For some reason in Canada bluetooth decks are pretty expensive or require other parts to install.
First off I love Pioneer brand and will always have Pioneer Brand so I am familiar with the functionality of them.
I love the Bluetooth, definately recommend reading the How to Manual so you get all the functions right, but after some fooling around I am a pro now
Also love that it has a USB and AUX jack for my Ipod..another huge plus!
I bought off Amazon because I couldn’t find this anywhere for that good of price, but disappointed that they wouldn’t ship to Canada. So just had shipped to family in the USA then shipped to Canada..minor inconveniece but worth it.
Definately recommend the product..and everyone says the little “dial” is hard to use..you all must have VERY large fingers cause I have no issues what so ever
Thanks!

P6100
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The bluetooth voice and media streaming works great with my storm phone. My only problem is with the volume control on the unit. The multi function nob is hard to get a grip and turn without performing an unwanted function. It’s better to use the remote for volume; but it can be distracting to find while driving. Other then that, the unit is set up nicely and works good. I would recommend this to a friend.

Lots of bang for your buck
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had this product for over a month and I’m very satisfied with it. The Bluetooth was very easy to set up and it
works like a charm with my iPhone. It takes a while to get used to the settings and the menus and the multiple control knob makes it easy for you to click something you weren’t trying to click, but with some practice it’s not too bad. It also has a ton of sound optimizing options (maybe too much for the average user).
One gripe about it is that it feels very “speaker phone” like to the people on other end of your call, I was hoping the mic would be better quality but it’s not horrible.
The Bluetooth audio stream is also a neat option, you can stream music from your iPhone wirelessly and I didn’t note any lag with it at all.
Overall it’s a great product and well worth the 200 but I had to get mine professionally installed at best buy because I didn’t know how to hook up the wires once I took the old unit out (50 dollars for the head unit install and another 20 to run the mic to the roof of my car by the driver side visor).

Husband Loves It
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this stereo for my husband recently. It was a great find. He loves it. He was able to install it himself easily and enjoys all the features, especially the Bluetooth connection. It was also alot cheaper on Amazon than on other websites.

reasonably happy overall
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Upon installation, everything worked great including the Bluetooth. Phone calls sound great without complaint on the other end. The sound is great even with 1996 factory speakers. I’m really happy the radio overall.
I have three big complaints:
- The volume nob is really shallow. This sounds like a small compliant until you try to turn down the radio with fat fingers. I literally have to grab the knob with my finger nails
- There are no preset buttons. Again, this is obvious from the picture, but becomes irritating if you listen to the radio and constantly switch channels.
- The menu is difficult to use, even from a person that uses Linux all day. I still haven’t figured out how to set the clock. Then again, I’m too obstinate to read the manual.

pioneer DEHP6100BT CD receiver
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this radio to replace a sorry panasonic CD receiver that was installed in my motor home. So far, I am very pleased with it. I haven’t figured out how to activate the built in blue tooth feature. It seems to be very confusing to me. I have a 32 inch Sony TV also installed and hooked the aduio into the auxiliary input on the radio. I now can hear the tv sound over my surround sound speakers which is a real plus since my wife and I are hard of hearing. I find the radio controls a lot more user friendly than the aray of tiny buttons of the panasonic radio. I really don’t use the CD that much because it is a single play and not six disc changer. I have my music downloaded to flash drives and use the front mounted USB port instead. The radio is also HD ready and adding a Sirius radio tuner will be my next purchase. My present car radio has blue tooth, USB and MP3 ports and Sirius radio. I am happy that the pioneer radio has the same features.

Great – But…
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I got this to replace another Pioneer because I wanted to connect Bluetooth, iPod, and XM directly to the head unit. As others have said, the controls are hard to get used to. There is writing on the unit, but it too small to read while driving. On the plus side, the LCD screen is much easier to read, even in bright daylight.
My biggest complaint is with the Owner’s Manual. It is much smaller that previous Pioneer manuals – measuring about 4 X 6″. For some reason, they chose to use a very light print for the text, and the letters are only 1 mm high! One millimeter is not very big, especially when the text is light gray, rather than black. What were they thinking?! A radio this complex to operate needs very clear directions -both visually and verbally. For Bluetooth, it says first read the info on the following page. Going to that section, it says first read the info on the previous page. I’d like to see step-by-step directions in one place, rather than having to read part here and part there. I hope to rely on the hand-held remote more than the front panel.
I printed some pages from the pdf version, but even then the text is small and light. I have also tried to cut and paste into a word processor, but that’s tedious.
I can recommend a small wireless remote control that Pioneer makes – CD-SR100, which sells for about $40. It mounts on the steering wheel and controls most Pioneer radios. All I use it for is volume, but it can do almost anything the front panel can do.

Great but not perfect.

I use this deck in my 2004 Cavalier and it was installed by Geek Squad. I got this on their recommendation that it was the best for clear sounding phone calls. It is very clear. It has several other features that attracted me like the bluetooth music. The advanced sound retrieval sounds so good that I only use bluetooth music when I forget my cable. I am able to use either the receiver or my iphone/ipod to control the music. Iphone GPS App’s voices come through clear and clean. Phone calls are very audible through my car speakers now and everyone says that I sound nice an clear with little or no echo just like the geek squad guys said. I have not been able to figure out how to get my iPhone 3GS voice control to work through the deck yet. Other than that the deck is great. All i did was swap out my factory stereo for it and my car sounds better than it ever did.

tricky but excellent reciever
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have never used an aftermarket radio, always factory. I got an older truck with a tape deck and wanted something that could control my ipod (nano 3rd gen), and have built in bluetooth. The extra benefits that I also wanted was a reciever that could put out some power so that I could feel a little thump. I don’t use the CD function and would have bought a unit without CD if it were available for less money. The big downfall to this stereo is the complex interface. To get where you want to be you have to hit the center toggle 4 or 5 times to make a call, and pull up your play lists and artists from the ipod. I have had this stereo for nearly two weeks and still am discovering how to set up and use functions. I am sure after some experience with it I won’t feel like it is such a big downfall. It also would have been nice to have a rear port for the ipod to clean up the look. Other than that I am very impressed with how much it changed the output from my factory speakers (I am still planning on upgrading) and despite the complexity of the interface I am really enjoying it.

Pioneer DEHP6100BT
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Very cool system. Navigation is a little cramped with main knob and small words around knob. Hard to read while driving. A little complicated then less equipped models. Sound and features are very well worth it. If you have iPod or iPhone you can play music wirelessly through bluetooth, Sweet if you ask me.
Sound is great!!!

Not compltible with several phones
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I agree with most of the reviewers. Not User friendly. Volume knob is slippery.
Not fully compatible with some phones:
Motorola Q9c, Bluetooth hands free does not work, Audio works
LG enV2 (VX9100)Bluetooth hands free does work, Audio does not work
T-Mobile G1 (the Google phone) fully compatible.
I called Pioneer and they basically said “it is not the stereo’s fault sorry there nothing we can do”.
Please post other phones that are fullly compatible with this head unit.
Thanks!

phone call and music freedom…
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Before i bought this product, i was fully aware of the capabilities of a pioneer car stereo, as usual, they didnt disappoint, controls are a little tricky but worth the performance, as soon as you get used to the controls, its like phone calls and music just had married to live happily ever after with unmatched bliss, the audio switches from calls to music in an instant as soon as the calls are done, want to redial, press a little button, want to switch to another incoming call? tap a little button, everything is up there on an engineering ritcher scale. Inbuilt memory is surprisingly spacious, save greater than 500 phone numbers, know who’s calling without taking your phone out the trunk, switch to private call if your cheating on your girlfriend while she’s in the car, set and adjust audio settings till you start wondering why you missed that physics class, easy ipod connectivity with inbuilt mp3 sound improvement to CD quality, sound output; very impressive.
Downsides; i wish the display was full dot OEL, rather than LCD, i didnt see the point though, because the version before this(DEHP5100UB) has full dot OEL display, but without an inbuilt bluetooth connection, the reason i picked this one, the buttons are a little tiny and awkward but effective.

Just What I Expected
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I was looking for a bluetooth stereo. I reviewed countless different products before deciding on this one. This one fit the bill perfectly. The clarity is wonderful. All of the options work as advertised. When I am talking via bluetooth I understand the conversation and the people on the other side understand me. I have not heard one complaint about the quality of reception. I drive a car with no carpet or matting (due to recent flooding), so the cab is pretty loud, yet no one has complained. The other options work well too. The only drawback to this model is that you REALLY need to keep the manual handy. It is not easy to navigate through the options unless you have your manual. Pairing was easy with my Blackberry Storm. If I was looking for a stereo I would buy this one again.

Perfect if it wasn’t for the KNOB!!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I know very little (emphasis on little!) about car stereos but i knew i did not like my factory installed stereo. I wanted something that would play my Ipod. Finally after some research i found this stereo. I wasn’t looking for bluetooth but then i saw this stereo online and figured why not add the bluetooth. I checked it out at the store first and bought it here, about $70 cheaper. So far it has been a good product. The Geek Squad installed it and gave me a quick “how to” demo. The stereo is easy enough to use that i figured out how to do a lot of things without help of the manual. The bluetooth works awesome with crystal clear calls. My only real complaint, and one that i have seen in most reviews is the super sensitive knob. I can’t press it to make a selection without hitting up another direction (up/down/left/right). Maybe it just takes practice but it is a dangerous if you are trying to figure it out on the road.
All in all.. great product. Couldn’t have asked for a better a product considering the deal i got on it. It made my little clunker just a little bit more stylish!

a little confusing
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’m still learning how to use this unit, but I like it so far. I wish there were more buttons rather than everything being controlled using the one main button/dial. It’s a little confusing at first. The built-in bluetooth is really convenient and it works well with my iphone. Sometimes the usb connection with my iphone gives me an error message, but if I unplug it and re plug it in it fixes itself. (I use the usb cable that came with my iphone, not one especially for car stereos, so that might be why.) I can’t rate the cd player because I still haven’t used it for that, I bought it mostly for the iphone/bluetooth compatibility. Overall I would say I’m satisfied with this unit.
